I have not been keeping up with this blog, and needless to say I have not mentioned all of the special birthday's that have taken place in June. I did mention that Elton was 41 June 2, Joel turned 36 the 6th of June. Then there was our baby, Emily in Oakland,CA who became 34 this year. Now that can not be true!! Then our oldest Granddaughter Alex turned 15 the 19th and got her learners permit to drive. Now that is a red letter day for any teenager!! Well, another dose of reality today; Brenda is 36!! To top the month off, the 30th, Elton and Lauri will be an old married couple of 18 years. We celebrated our 25th anniversary the year they got married. Life is moving tooooo fast.
None the less we wish each one a very Happy day and many more in good health, with God's richest blessings.
Today I was able to watch Emma for the first time since sometime in May, and has she changed. Her vocabulary has expanded and she is quite the girl. I met Brenda at Centerpointe Mall this morning, and Brenda went on to work, and I had a return to Kohl's. Then it was back to Byron Center. Emma has a great memory and whatever we talk about before her nap, is the first thing she talks about when she wakes up. It usually involves something I have promised her after her nap.
This evening Brett and Roxanne took us out to Keiser's in Lowell for their Friday night fish dinner. It was delicious as always, and the company was even better.
It has started to rain again and I hear the thunder, so hope we get a good shower of rain, as it is dry around here.
I talked with Everett's sister Margie this afternoon, and she had been to see Mom this morning, and said she was looking good. Mom got a perm yesterday,( that always lifts a ladies spirit) and was dressed and sitting in her lift chair, watching TV and had her word search book open. She was moved to her room yesterday, so we hope that will be good for her. They have been bringing Mom out to the main room, and she has been taking part in the activities there, and that is so good for her, as she loves to be by people. She also had her first piece of toast this morning, and that is great. She will appreciate some real food, that is not pureed.
We are so grateful for the progress Mom has made this far, and pray that it continues.
