Many things have happened in the last month, one of which was my going on Facebook. It is not an excuse to ignore posting, but I guess I find it difficult to do both. We are well, and enjoying the fall weather, and the colors that are starting to show up around here too. We have had enough rain to keep it beautifully green, and the river high. We have not been out on the river with the pontoon boat the last month, but are waiting for some Indian summer days, to take one more cruise.
We are leaving for DeMotte, IN tomorrow to visit Elton, Lauri and kids. We have not visited with them for quite some time, so are looking forward to a visit. The kids are all busy in various activities so they will have a lot to talk about.
September 23 was the day a precious little boy was born that had been promised to Joel and Brenda, but 3 days after his birth he was taken from the hospital by his mother. There were many days of grief, but we know God has His hand in this too. We pray that they will soon see what God has in mind for them.
We also were able to meet Phil and Shirley at the place they had on Lake Michigan in St. Joseph, to celebrate their 6th anniversary. We went to Clementine's for dinner and had a delightful visit. It was so good to see them again, and especially great to see Phil looking healthy. We pray that this remission lasts a long time.
Mom has had a third fall, but there was no permanent damage. She was reaching and trying to be helpful, and became unbalanced and fell out of her chair. She had a puncture on the top of her head which bled profusely, but was checked by the medical staff. We plan to go see her the end of the month.
We are in trying times with the financial crisis and the elections. Only God knows the outcome and we must pray fervently for our nation, and those that run the country. Just remember to VOTE. It is a wonderful privilege and freedom that we must take seriously.
